Congratulations to all the winners and players who came out to play in our first tournament of the season. We had 221 players from 33 schools many of them playing in their first competitive tournament.

The Chicago Public Schools Department of Academic Competitions and Renaissance Knights in partnership with the Chicago Police Department hosted a three week Cops & Kids Experience at Whitney Young Magnet High School, from July 14 to August 4, 2017.

The Chess Summer Experience
20 CPS High School students will have the opportunity to participate in the CHESS SUMMER EXPERIENCE. This unique summer camp is a part of the new Cops & Kids Chess Initiative to afford additional engagement opportunities to students from diverse communities throughout the city. Students will be paid $8.25 / hour to learn life skills through chess centered programing. More Info
All-Girls National Championships
By plane, train, bus & car players and their families made their way to Chicago to compete in the 14th Annual KCF All-Girls National Championships. Due to multiple weather cancellations, many players from the east coast were unable to make the tournament. Others did what every they could to make it to the tournament; to include taking the bus or train, renting a car and driving all night, spending days in the airport to get on another plane. Results
