The Chicago Scholastic Chess League is a competitive chess league sponsored by Renaissance Knights.

Through Renaissance Knights’ partnership with Chicago Public Schools Academic Competition under the Department of Teaching and Learning, the CSCL serves to advance the Mission of Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and its Academic Chess Program: to be the premier urban school district by providing high quality instruction, outstanding academic programs, and development supports to prepare its students for tomorrow’s challenges.

Times: Check-in 9:00 – 9:30, Round 1 starts at 10:00 rest ASAP, Awards approx. 2:30

3 Divisions: Elementary (K-5), Junior High (K-8), High School (9-12)

Teams: 5-players from same school (minimum of 4 to play)

Awards: Trophies top 2 teams, Medals top 2 team members each section

Equipment: Boards & sets provided for the tournament

Entry Fee: Players are requested to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to a local food depository to help fight hunger in the community
